Sustainability has been core to our strategy for a long time. In 2006 the current generation laid the foundations of our strategic platform and determined that there should be no conflict between having business success, being socially responsible and at the same time caring for the environment. This triple bottom line has been our driving principle ever since.

From reading the UN’s State of the Planet reports it is clear that further actions are needed. As a business, either we are part of “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs” or, we could quickly find our customers going elsewhere.

In line with the Flakk Group’s values, we wish to offer public scrutiny as to how we are incorporating sustainability in our businesses on a day-to-day basis. We have decided to be part of the solution for the world to reach the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Our business is diverse, and it is natural for each company to focus on different subsets of these 17 goals. As a group, we have decided to initially report on the status and improvement plans for the following 3 SDG’s:

To structure our reporting, we have adopted the guidelines from World Economic Forum (WEF). During 2021 we will measure and determine our current baseline, as well as set goals for improvements going forward.

Working with these three SDG’s we will verify, and rectify if needed, that we are acting as a responsible and caring corporate citizen at all times. This includes providing decent working conditions for all our employees around the globe and ensuring that we are not discriminating in any form or manner. From an environmental perspective, we will report our combined Scope 1 and Scope 2 CO2 emissions, with Scope 3 to follow. Finally, we will determine the societal financial impacts and effects from all of the Flakk Group activities.

We will report on our baseline, our goals, our actions and our results annually. Gradually we will increase the number of SDG’s that we will report on for the Flakk Group as a whole.

In a successful family-owned company, values are as important as DNA. Integrity, honesty, ambition, strategic long-term vision and innovation run in our veins. In a modern world it is crucial that we now add sustainability to how we approach everything we do.
